Our client is a highly respected and rapidly growing niche production manufacturer generating around $1 billion annually. The organization is preparing for a major SAP S/4HANA upgrade as part of an exciting transformation journey. Currently managing 21 ERP systems, including 2 on SAP ECC, 1 on S/4HANA, and 18 other legacy systems, the company aims to harmonize its ERP landscape and streamline business functionality onto a single SAP S/4HANA platform. This transformation will involve significant process optimization, system integration, and cross-functional collaboration.

The company prides itself on its people-first culture and is led by a dynamic, approachable executive team. As part of this strategic project, the company is seeking a Senior SAP PP Expert to play a critical role in driving the success of the S/4HANA implementation and harmonization efforts.

Job Overview:

The Senior SAP PP Expert will be an integral member of the team, responsible for leading and supporting the SAP PP (Production Planning) functionality as part of the broader S/4HANA transformation project. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on a high-impact, large-scale project and to be involved in shaping the future direction of SAP within the organization. This is a largely remote role with occasional travel required to production sites in your region. You will work closely with a motivated leadership team and be supported by a robust professional development program, ensuring continuous career growth and skill enhancement.

Key Responsibilities:

• SAP PP Expertise & Configuration:

  • Lead the implementation, optimization, and day-to-day support of the SAP PP (Production Planning) module, ensuring alignment with business requirements and process goals.
  • Configure and customize SAP PP to meet the specific needs of the business, including production order management, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and capacity planning.
  • Collaborate with business process owners and key users to ensure that SAP PP solutions are aligned with operational objectives and deliver business value.

• S/4HANA Transformation & Harmonization:

  • Play a key role in the SAP S/4HANA upgrade project, focusing on the transition from legacy ERP systems (ECC) to the S/4HANA platform, ensuring seamless integration and data migration for SAP PP processes.
  • Contribute to the harmonization of business processes across multiple ERP systems, streamlining SAP functionality and improving operational efficiencies.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration between SAP PP and other modules, such as SAP MM (Materials Management), SAP SD (Sales and Distribution), and SAP QM (Quality Management).

• Collaboration & Stakeholder Management:

  • Partner with business stakeholders across multiple production sites to understand their SAP PP needs, providing guidance and support throughout the implementation and optimization phases.
  • Provide expert advice and best practices for SAP PP processes, driving continuous improvement across the production planning and manufacturing functions.

• Process Improvement & Change Management:

  • Identify opportunities for process optimization within SAP PP, making recommendations to enhance system performance, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
  • Support change management efforts, ensuring that business users are well-trained, equipped, and ready for new system functionalities.

• Career Development & Growth:

Key Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience & Expertise:

  • 5+ years of experience as an SAP PP Expert, with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in SAP Production Planning (PP), including configuration, customization, and process optimization.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes, with the ability to translate business needs into effective SAP solutions.
  • Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable but not mandatory; familiarity with SAP ECC and the migration to S/4HANA is a plus.

• Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to SAP QM (Quality Management) is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience with multi-site, multi-system environments is a plus, particularly in the context of ERP harmonization and integration.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong SAP PP configuration skills, with the ability to customize and tailor the system to meet specific business requirements.
  • Familiarity with SAP interfaces and integration points with other modules (MM, SD, WM, etc.).
  • Experience in data migration, testing, and support activities during system upgrades or transformations.
